Raymond is a ni Vanuatu born in White Sands Tanna.

Raymond, educated under the French School system, comes from a background of teaching in remote island communities leading to years of experience as a curriculum adviser, school inspector and Provincial Education Officer. The skills Raymond developed through working with children and adults in education has enabled him to develop strengths in leadership, team work and communication.

Raymond’s network includes a wide range of communities throughout the Province and main island of Efate. His strong interest and understanding of island culture and customs allows him to easily communicate through the chiefly systems and gain respect from remote groups situated in the deep forests of Tanna.

Raymond’s interest to help communities sustain their unique lifestyles and seek development opportunities through ideas and visions indigenously generated has led him to set up the NGO.

His travel has included a study tour to New Zealand specifically to learn from indigenous groups of Maori and Polynesian in relation to education and development while retaining language and cultural identity. Raymond also hosted a Pasifika Group to Vanuatu to experience the ancient culture and custom knowledge of Tanna communities.

His vision includes creating opportunities for youth to remain within their island communities with skills to support and enhance development and to support Tafea towards indigenous owned and operated development initiatives though partnerships of trust, expertise and wisdom.
